The Dragon's Teeth
The Dragon’s Teeth is the common name for the mountain range forming the border between The Syrician Empire and The Unapproachable East. Whilst not as tall as some of the mountains in the Frostspire Peaks to the northwest, these mountains are nigh on impenetrable, and no-one has ever successfully crossed them to explore the lands beyond. Might ‘Razor Blizzards’ rage all yeah round in the mountains proper, where an abundance of rain turns to razor sharp ice in the cold peaks. The mountains look like huge spikes due to their incredibly steep slopes, with the peaks covered in snow all year round. This gives them a likeness to giant canines, hence their name ‘The Dragon’s teeth’. A particularly interesting geological feature is that these mountains stretch the whole way across the continent from north to south, even reacking into the ocean, forming huge spiked columns that erupt from the ocean, making sailing across to the East impossible. As such, many wrecks, both old and new lie upon the teeth.
On the continent only a few small villages are present in the foothills, as this is not an easy life to lead. The only exception is the small village of Ilgeraic which has a vineyard of some repute, due to a unique micro-climate formed by a ring of small foothills that shelter it from the harsh weather systems of the mountains, providing a warm dry and relatively wind-free environment that grape-farmers have managed to exploit.
